ARCAS

ASOCIACIÓN RESCATE Y CONSERVACIÓN DE VIDA SILVESTRE (ARCAS) is a Guatemalan association dedicated to protecting biodiversity and raising awareness of ecosystem conservation.

ASOCIACIÓN RESCATE Y CONSERVACIÓN DE VIDA SILVESTRE (ARCAS)

Since its creation in 1989, ARCAS has been working to protect biodiversity in Guatemala. In particular, it works on sea turtles and mangroves, crucial and threatened ecosystems. The association combines educational actions, such as reforestation programs, waste collection, and the study of local flora and fauna. It also fights against wildlife trafficking and collects confiscated animals at its center, 80% of which are macaws and other parrots.

Our support

Play for Nature supports ARCAS in organizing a beach soccer championship in Hawaii, Guatemala. Aimed at children and students, the event raises awareness of the need to protect sea turtles and mangroves. In parallel, workshops will be organized, including activities such as litter-picking, wildlife observations and biodiversity quizzes. The project is expected to raise awareness directly among 520 people and indirectly among another 1,000, while actively involving local communities.
