The Foundation for Sustainability of Ecosystem, Wildlife and Climate works to protect biodiversity, in particular chimpanzees, and to conserve biodiversity in the Niger Delta in Nigeria.

Foundation for Sustainability of Ecosystem, Wildlife and Climate,

Founded in 2012, the Foundation for Sustainability of Ecosystem, Wildlife and Climate is dedicated to protecting biodiversity and implementing conservation policies in Nigeria’s Niger Delta. Headed by Rachel Ashegbofe, who holds a master’s degree in conservation project management and has over 20 years’ experience in biodiversity, the association works with local communities to educate, raise awareness and promote sustainable practices. It plays an essential role in protecting the Forêt d’Ise Conservation Area and its species.

Our support

Play for Nature supports the Foundation for Sustainability of Ecosystem, Wildlife and Climate in its project to raise awareness of the vulnerability of chimpanzees and the importance of protecting them. The project includes monthly field visits to explore biodiversity with young people, women, farmers and local authorities. A soccer tournament will be organized between the communities of the conservation area, mobilizing 600 participants. In addition, a workshop will be held to draw up a 10-year management plan for the area.

Play for Nature’s support finances sports equipment, tournament organization and communication activities, including posters, banners, radio and TV advertising. This support contributes to large-scale mobilization and encourages the sustainability of conservation efforts through the involvement of local communities and partnerships with regional players.
