NaPO, located in Kenya, focuses on ecosystem conservation, the fight against climate change and the development of sustainable agricultural activities. The association runs projects actively involving local communities to restore and protect biodiversity, in particular by setting up a community governance system to implement measures to combat climate change. NaPO is a key player in the Mont Marsabit region for the protection of endangered species such as the African elephant and the Grevy’s zebra, and the development of sustainable local economic activities.
Play for Nature is supporting NaPO in the organization of the NaPO Conservation Cup, a soccer tournament scheduled to run from January to June 2025 to raise local awareness of the need to protect Mount Marsabit. Participating teams carry out replanting activities supervised by the association and benefit from training workshops.
Funding for Play for Nature helps cover the costs of sports equipment, trophies, logistics and communications. By strengthening conservation efforts, this initiative encourages the sustainable involvement of local communities and the consolidation of partnerships.
