Biodiv’Sport is a specific fund with the objective to finance projects using sport as a tool to raise awareness among populations and protect biodiversity.
In order to link the sport values to concrete actions of biodiversity conservation, we are developing the Biodiv’Sport fund to give companies the opportunity to deliver funding grants to projects using sport as a tool to raise awareness among populations. We accompany the companies which want to get involved in the choice of these projects.
The associations supported organise sporting events to raise awareness about biodiversity protection among local populations. Competitions range from soccer tournaments for giraffes and high-altitude marathons for red pandas, to the Maasai Olympics for African lions, to name but a few.
We have supported the organization of soccer, Nzango and Silikoti competitions to raise community awareness of the need to protect bonobos and their habitat. This project has strengthened local commitment to biodiversity, with support for the financing of equipment, organization and teams.
We supported the Journées du Tong-il Sport Conservation in Côte d'Ivoire, an event combining martial arts and race walking to raise awareness of biodiversity protection and the role of sport in the conservation of natural resources.

We supported ABOYERD's Ngouroumoutou project, combining traditional dance and awareness-raising on pangolin conservation. Reforestation actions were carried out with the logistical support of the endowment fund.
We supported ACB Côte d'Ivoire in a sports project to raise awareness of the Voluntary Nature Reserve of the Marais Tanoé-Ehy Forest. Through a soccer tournament and a marathon, local communities were made aware of sustainable natural resource management and biodiversity conservation. The funds raised covered the logistical and medical costs associated with the event.
We supported Tube Awù in its project to raise awareness of marine and coastal wildlife conservation in the Manyange na Elombo Campo marine national park, through sport. During two local tournaments of traditional wrestling and mixed soccer, the youngsters were made aware of the park's emblematic species, the threats that affect them, and the actions taken to protect them.
We supported the organization of a mini men's soccer tournament and a women's handball match in Somalomo, in eastern Cameroon. The event raised young people's awareness of compost making and fallow land rehabilitation, in order to preserve the forest and combat climate change.
We supported Biosfera in a project to preserve the coral reefs on the beaches of Baia das Gatas and Laginha, threatened by fishing, trampling, pollutants and plastics. A scientific training program, including diving, snorkeling and practical workshops, was set up for students. Awareness-raising campaigns were also carried out for the general public and in schools to protect coastal marine biodiversity.
We supported CREDI-ONG in a project aimed at strengthening biodiversity monitoring and raising awareness among the inhabitants of the Sitatunga Valley. Scientific mapping of ecosystems and species helped target conservation actions, while a reforestation campaign with 1,000 seedlings and several sports walks mobilized the community around environmental preservation.
We supported Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in a project combining sport, education and conservation to raise awareness of the need to protect the western chimpanzee, one of the world's most endangered primates. Through soccer tournaments, cultural events, teacher training and workshops with local authorities, communities have been mobilized to preserve chimpanzees and their habitats in Sierra Leone.
