Tropical Forest And Rural Development

Tropical forest and Rural Development is a Cameroonian association of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

Tropical Forest And Rural Development

The association works in 42 villages on the northern outskirts of the Dja Faunal Reserve in southern Cameroon. It figths to reduce poverty and protect ecosystems and endangered species to the benefit of local communitites living around Cameroon’s Protected Areas. It also runs an ecotourism project that promotes the development of local communities through the construction of ecolodges, the creation of eco-museums and the rehabilitation of farms.

Our support

We are supporting the association in the organization of a men’s mini soccer tournament and a women’s handball match in the Somalomo district of eastern Cameroon. This event will raise awareness among young people about composting and fallow plots rehabilitation to limit deforestation and fight against climate change by preserving the forest. Play for Nature’s support contributes to awareness campaigns in schools, equipment purchases and tournament logistics.
